Last year, Apple made some of the biggest changes to the iOS software with the introduction of iOS 7. The new software headlined features such as a brand new user interface, a control centre and even iTunes radio however most of the best features of the iOS 7 were found in the smallest of features such as multitasking and having the ability to switch between multiple open applications whilst also being able to quit them by swiping upwards just as fast. Apple also redesigned their camera application that included a set of new filters and shoot modes. I personally am a big fan of the iOS 7 and I am just of a bigger fan of the new iOS 8.

With the new iOS 8 update, you can expect a lot more from your smartphone. There are many smart adjustments that Apple have made to enhance your interactivity and experience.
CAMERA
Finally Apple have integrated their camera with a timer so now you can ditch all the self timer apps that you've been using! As well as the timer, Apple have introduced new shoot modes that I have been having so much fun playing around with alongside new filters and editing options.
Timer | With the new camera timer, you can now be in the photo yourself. When the self timer is switched on you can select from two timer settings allowing you to shoot photos from a 3 and 10 second time period.
Time Lapse | If your not sure what time lapse photography is, its a type of photography that happens when the frame rate is lower than what is used to view the sequence and when played in normal speed it looks to be faster. However not everything is a suitable time lapse object, things such as a plant growing and sunsets are fantastic objects to shoot in time lapse.
With the new favourite button, you can now add your favourite pictures to a dedicated folder at the touch of a heart :-)
The photo editing tools are nothing from the norm that we have not already come across on other applications but a step up for Apple. You'll find a new feature in the cropping tool allowing the ability to fix the composition of photos without having to crop them completely and of course you have your filters which are still quite limited. However on the other hand, iOS 8 gives you the functionality to fine tune your pictures and adjust the contrast and brightness precisely the way you like it.
Another feature that comes in very handy, is the little pop window that appears when you receive a message allowing you quickly send replies without having to go into the application. This feature can be disabled for those whom might find it annoying.

messaging
With the new messaging app updates you can now finally leave that annoying iMessage group that simply just won't go away, but things keep on getting better similar to WhatsApp the messaging app now includes all the media that is present in the conversation within the conversation details whilst also giving you ability to share your location and mute any conversations. Apple have gone in a little further and added the voice recording functionality to the messaging app that allows you to quickly record voice messages and send them across to your contacts.Another feature that comes in very handy, is the little pop window that appears when you receive a message allowing you quickly send replies without having to go into the application. The mail app also gets a little touch up with its new swipe menu giving you the ability to delete and flag the email. The menu also has the "More" option which opens up standard menu and gives further options such as replying, forwarding and even setting up a notification alert.
QUICKTYPE
iOS 8 likes to predict what your most likely going to be typing next. This functionality takes into account the phrases and words that you have used in the form of messaging and emails and also whom you usually send them to in the past and adapts to it. The quick type keyboard displays the words that are you are most likely going to use and even if it does not get it right it will still guess the words as you are typing. If you don't like this feature as it can get quite annoying as the words constantly are updating as you type, you can disable it.
design
iOS 7 allowed us to change the size of our text and the iOS 8 now allows us to make that font bold...amazing. Along side the font updates, the iOS 8 comes along with new wallpapers which I am sure look better in display on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. But that's not all, there have been quite a few other major changes to the interface that you will notice to enhance interactivity.
I've only mentioned some of the very basic features from the software however it comes along with many more updates and that includes app store updates.
