How many of you made it to the Anti-ageing Health and Beauty Show last weekend at Kensington Olympia? Well if you didn't...you definitely missed out! It was my first time visiting the anti-ageing show and it was a much enjoyed experience. I got to pick up so many goodies and gained so much valuable information about skin care directly from the experts. I came across an exciting nail art brand (MoYou Nails) at the anti-ageing health and beauty show and after a nail demonstration from the lovely lady at the stand gave me, I was convinced that I had to buy a MoYou Nail Art Kit.
I love doing my nails whether it's just a bit nail polish, a manicure or nail wraps...I love them all and I've always wanted to do my own nail art so when I saw this cute nail stamping kit and how easily I could achieve gorgeous nails with...it just had to be mine.
I purchased the MoYou Kitty Set which was priced at £20.00 at the expo, but usually priced at £24.99, plus I got to chose exactly what stamping plates and nail polish I wanted in my Kitty Set. I decided to go with a stamping plate that had full nail prints and another with little flowers and stars for smaller prints and I swapped the black nail polish which was originally within the kit for a pretty gold one.
What's inside the Kitty Set:
- Two stamping plates
- Nail polish
- Rubber stamp
- A scrape to clean up excess polish
- A mini book giving you a little tutorial and ideas on what art you could do to your own nails
This is my first time using nail art stamps and it did not go as easily as the lady demonstrated to me. I've looked at a couple of tips online from other bloggers whom create pretty nail arts and applied some of the tips that I found online which I want to share with you:
- You got to be fast (the nail polish dries fast)
- The direction in which your scrape excess off the plate matters
- Be careful not to scrape off too much or too little excess off
- Use a business card instead of the scrape (much easier)
- The rubber stamps needs to rolled over the print and then rolled over to your nail.
I thought it would be a very straight forward process, however there is a lot more to nail art that meets the eye. After applying these tips, I began to see that some of the prints required the excess to be scraped off in different directions and then I began to finally start seeing the print appearing on my rubber stamp after I had rolled it over. I still need loads of practise though to get to grips with it and create my own fancy looking nails.
Overall, the MoYou Kitty Set is an excellent starter kit for anyone that has just started nail stamping...just like me and they also have some gorgeous looking designs.
If you have any tips for me, please leave them in the comments.
